10 tips for the summer around the Alpe di Siusi

Legendary walks. The traces of the Sciliar witches lead hikers to mystical places: the cult mountain Sciliar is a meeting place of witches, the witches' chairs and the witches' benches are their resting places.

Mountain biking all around. 33 tours, 1,000 total kilometres, 35,000 meters uphill invite you to explore the biking area Val Gardena / Alpe di Siusi.

Lake Laghetto di Fiè. At the foot of the Sciliar mountain lies Italy's most beautiful lake, which, with a water temperature of about 22 ° C, invites to cool down after a hot summer day.

Tour on horse back. Explore the surroundings of the holiday area Alpe di Siusi on the back of haflingers, quarter horses and ponies.

Magic in a mountain hut. What would be holidays without visiting one of the numerous lodges on and around the Alpe di Siusi? The mountain huts offer traditional South Tyrolean dishes such as Knödel "dumplings" and Strudel.

Music is in the air. Chamber Music Festival, Schlern International Music Festival and Summer Classics cater for classic sounds above the pasture.

Castelrotto from above. The Castelrotto tower with its 88 meters is one of the highest in South Tyrol. 325 wooden steps lead up into the tower. Once at the top, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the village.

Hay bath. The power of herbs unfolds its full effect in a hay bath.

On Oswald's footsteps. The ruins of Castelvecchio and Salego above the village Siusi allo Sciliar and the Oswald von Wolkenstein walking trail invite to a trip into the Middle Ages.

Take a photo and win. Simply shoot a picture of your best holiday moments and upload it on the Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm Flickr group, tag it with "seiseralmsummer", send a mail with the most important information to us and you're in the photo contest Alpe di Siusi Summer. And who knows? Maybe it's you who will win a weekend for two at the Wanderhotel Europa.

Travelling without a car

Explore the holiday area Alpe di Siusi by bus, bicycle and on foot: the shuttle buses connect the villages at the foot of the Sciliar mountain. The Alpe di Siusi cableway offers a comfortable ride to the Alpe di Siusi from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mountain bikers can also transport their mountain bike for free. Also the chairlifts Panorama, Sole, Marinzen, and the Telemix Bullaccia offer a free bike transport. Mountain bike trails of varying difficulty lead to Marinzen, the Castelvecchio ruin, the Malga Tuff Alm or to the Alpe di Tires. And 350 km of hiking trails around the Alpe di Siusi lead to the most beautiful places in the region.

A holiday without a car is all about the environment, but also about adventure and togetherness: on the bus and in the cable way you get into conversation. While hiking and cycling off the streets you can explore hidden places, and enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Dolomites.

The street leading to the Alpe di Siusi Nature Protection Reserve is blocked for daily traffic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. One more reason for a holiday without a car.

New care line: Trehs Original Mountain Hay

The new hay products comprise the authentic perfume of hay and pamper hair and skin with the active ingredients of wild mountain herbs and flowers: dietary minerals, essential oils, proteins and starch characterise the hay itself. The beneficial effects are just as diverse as the highly effective herb mix. Inspiration for the care and cosmetic line Trehs was the traditional knowledge about the healing powers of hay.

The Trehs mountain hay products add a touch of holiday feeling and give off the unmistakable scent of the Alpe di Siusi mountain hay. The cosmetic line is available in pharmacies and in the best houses around the Alpe di Siusi.
